Recall that Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport was closed down on 8th march 2017  to pave way for rehabilitation of the airport run way.

Julius Berger has commenced work at the Abuja Airport. The airport runway was cleared of unwanted equipment and aircraft while Julius Berger vehicles were seen moving construction equipment to the site on Thursday.

The international airport is expected to be closed down for the next 6 weeks for repairs by Julius Berger construction company.

The Manager, International Terminal, of the airport, Hajara Musa, said the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had handed over the runway to the contractor. Musa disclosed that the company had already done the marking to clearly indicate the runway had been closed to landing.

According to her, FAAN management has handed over the airport runway rehabilitation to the construction company in charge of the contract.
