Let’s take a look at your Paper work because getting the paperwork right is the first step in immigrating to South Africa
Right now under the present South African Government, there are about 13 types of short-term residence visa. South Africa work visa has four types. This is because the legislation is so defined, and that is why the decision to grant a visa to someone is never left to one official alone, that is also why an applicant is free to appeal against an unfavorable outcome.

Business Visa

If you are an investor planning to invest in S A, or start up a business in the country, you will need to apply for a Business Visa. One important criteria to get the business visa is for you to invest an agreed minimum amount of capital in your South African business.

Student Visa

Let me correct a wrong impression believed by many applicants. Please South African Department of Home Affairs has not and are not yet to place any form of restriction on admitting foreigners to South Africa institutions as bo-ne-fide students, never the less the Department still has the statutory right of controlling the admission and residence of all foreign students in the country.
Nonetheless, if you are hoping or about to apply to study in South Africa, there are things you need to bear in mind.

The most important considerations when handling an application for a Study Permit are that…

  • A foreigner must not displace a South African citizen/resident at a local educational institution.
  • The applicant must provide evidence of adequate money to both sustain themselves in South Africa and be able to pay all tuition fees and the fund must also cover all medicals with a South African medical aid scheme.

Work Visa

South Africa has different types of Work Visas for different reasons; more often than not work Visa are only issued to foreigners in a situation where there is no South African with the required skills. Nevertheless, if you possess more and rare qualification or skill that is not easy to come by in South Africa, you should easily qualify for an essential Skills Work Visa. In addition, if you have been transferred to South Africa by your employer, you are then regarded as “key personnel” and chances are that you may qualify for the Intra-company transfer visa, and in such a case you do not need to evidence that steps were taken to source a South African citizen for the position, but you must have been under your employer for at least six (6) months.

Corporate Visa

This type of visa gives room for a company to hire and fire numerous foreigners at once, and these also aids to fast-track the process of securing their work visas. Though there are restrictions, because its only companies that qualifies for it that goes for this type of visa

Exchange Visa

An Exchange Visa are usually granted to someone who intends to participate in a social, cultural or economic exchange programme, if the programme is run by an organ of state or a public higher educational institution, in collaboration with an organ of a foreign state. For the purposes of the exchange visa, the applicant must be at least 25years old.

Retired Person Visa

This type of visa is for applicant who wants to retire in South Africa. Retiring applicant must meet the financial criteria set out in the relevant legislation (evidence of funds: R37,000 monthly).
In the case of an immediate family of a South African citizen, you may qualify for the relative’s permit. In order to do so, you will need to comply with the financial criteria set out in the relevant legislation.

Where to Apply For a Temporary Residence Visa

You can contact us if you need a lawyer to hasten your application .On the other hand, if you are willing to go through the rigorous process on your own,

Then these are what you need to know:

South Africa Immigration laws are constantly changing most recently in May 2014, When applying for an immigration visa to South Africa, you are embarking on a legal process.
In the case of some nationalities, in terms of present legislation, some nationalities cannot change their status here in South Africa but can only change their visa status by leaving South Africa and applying from their country of origin. Meaning that you may only be able to change from a temporary to a Permanent Residence Permit once you are actually outside of South Africa. In addition, it also means that you can no longer enter South Africa until the relevant visa has actually been granted by the Department of Home Affairs. Please Note that it not something that can be done in just one day.

Extension of temporary residence visa

The moment you have your valid visa and you are in South Africa, it is now your statutory duty to make sure that your visa is kept valid. Also, you can only enter South Africa if your passport is valid for not less than 30 days after the end of your stay in the country.

Additional things you need to know about is that you need to apply for a new visa at least 60 calendar days before the current (existing) one expires and at least 7 days before (for visa exempt nationalities on a 30 day visa)please bear in mind that just applying does not grant you any position in the country.
